Intermission

The only season that is not represented is the summertime it's not the blue floor the orange carpet it's not the cold tile
We're lookin' all around us at the way it progresses this is a goner field check out the settin' sun see those piles of stone they're all dead and gone
Drop everything and float you really should let out your breath you're finally understood
This is an xray of an opinion but the bones already knew it it's fun to see a pair of headlights listen to the buzzin world kenny told me that you can't read a poem on a calculator
Drop everything and float you really should let out your breath you're finally understood

In The Winter

Right now the fish are nipping at their heels and the rocks are warming up their backs while dozing in the sun
And the sumac has now started brushing by the trail there's apologies and tshirts and the sunny affection
Oh but as the days get shorter and the goldenrod takes over for the shining expectation of the sun
The afterlight is just a glimmer and she turns it down to simmer what will they do in the winter
Maybe when there's just one house left with rustling leaves still dropping and the cats are finding comfort zones to while away the chill
And they're sittin at the kitchen table with the dusty cups and saucers telling stories to each other making sense out of each other
Oh but as the days get shorter and the goldenrod takes over for the shining explanation of the sun
The afterlight is just a glimmer and she turns it down to simmer I wonder will they know the songs to fill in for the crickets till they figure how to pass the time inside an empty nest when the clovers are contained and the dandelion's tame
What will they do what will they do what will they do in the winter what will they do in the winter
